Paint Party Friday is on!

First I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to all those effected by the
recent, insane violence that is rocking our world.
My thoughts and prayers out to everyone,
our Country and our World.
This has to end.

Today, I finally got a couple pictures edited for today's
I used PicMonkey which is easy editing
however it is an online program
and can only edit one picture uploaded at a time.
So it has taken me several hours to just
get a few photos done.
Going to look for another one to try that is downloadable.

I think this is where I left off two Friday's ago.

Beginning of the painting. Not very pretty.
Why do I keep painting flowers in vases? Why oh why?

All is not lost, adding texture and putting my glasses on
can make for some great changes!
(I realized putting my glasses on while editing makes a huge difference)
This photo is actually blurry, it just has yummy textures.

I found a jar of Golden's Self Leveling Clear Gel
I didn't know I had and never used it.
I tried it out on this painting and it is the BEST
texture-y, shining, awesome stuff!
Simply amazing!

Here is the painting "Bouquet of My Heart" almost done.

It's not a good photo, I just couldn't try to find another
picture to use. Going back and forth from one picture at a time
onto Pic Monkey was just too time consuming
and my right arm and hand are done for the day.

Next Friday I will share this mixed media painting completed
along with at least one more.
I will also be using another photo editor.
One that is downloadable and easy to use.

Have a Perfect Paint Party Friday
and a
Wonderful Week!

Hugs, Rasz

Paint Party Friday with trying a new photo editor...

What a beautiful, hot summer Paint Party Friday!
Thanks as always to Eva and Kristen
for being the never-ending hostesses
of the best weekly blogging party ever.

Last week I had dumped Picasa Photo Editor
and thought I lost all my pictures too!
I wanted it back once I realized I didn't like
Window's Photo Program,
only to find out there is no more Picasa
unless you already have downloaded it.
Google has gotten rid of it and there will be no more updates
for the programs.

Uh-oh! What was I going to do?
I do not like Window's Photo editor,
although I did find most of my lost pictures in there.

Last week, I only had a couple close ups of this painting.
I did find my pictures and here she is finished.

And a close up of her face.

And as I am posting this I just dumped coffee on my laptop.
Hopefully all is good...it has to be...it's PPF!

So the photo editor I used for today's post is
Pic Monkey Royale!
Very easy to use, except there is no download of the program.
All editing has to be done on their site online.
My next try will be with Gimp 2 which I already have downloaded,
although Gimp does so much more than I would ever use the program for.

Onto some more art...
There has been this ugly spotted background waiting to be turned into a painting.
I started the process Wednesday.

A trio of colored tissue paper,
pulled off all the bubbles yesterday morning.
It's not so easy to adhere tissue paper down without the bubbles.

Decided to add Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distressed Spray Stain,
and some Basic's Light Blue Permanent acrylic paint with lots of water.

While still wet, since I had no patience this week,
I started to add newspaper pictures from Trader Joe's weekly ad,
along with Tim Holtz Idea-ology Postale and Melange
tissue wrap.
I used Golden's Soft Gel Gloss Medium for the paper.
I was amazed it all stayed down.
The wet paint and stain added color over the papers.

No bubbles, just a few wrinkles
which are fine for some added texture.
I am very happy with this background.
Now what to do with it?

Leaving you with a couple pics of the hummingbirds
who visit every day.
I like to think they visit me,
really it's the feeder.

Have a GREAT PPF day and
a WONDERFUL weekend!

Blessings to all, Rasz
