happy paint party friday...

Another Friday is here and I realize how fast the days past.
The good thing about another Friday is Paint Party Friday!

If you want to learn more about PPF or meet the amazing hostesses Eva and Kristen,
go HERE!

My week was filled with learning to draw faces.
I am still working on Guada's Mini Ghost Girl Class
and I need all the practice I can get before painting another one.
Good thing this is one of those classes that you can go at your own pace,
otherwise I would have been lost in the dust.

The 3/4 Face is the hard one for me:

And still practicing the Front Face:

And painting Gesso on more cardboard for my next paintings.
I am addicted to this surface and look forward to lots of painting:

That's it for me. Hoping to have some new paintings by next Friday.
Happy PPF everyone!

memorial day...

On this Memorial Day, please remember,

All gave some, some gave all...

This is a time to remember those who gave all.

i love friday's 'cuz it's paint party friday...

It feels so good to be posting again.
This makes it two weeks in a row, YAY,
posting in PAINT PARTY FRIDAY!!!

If you want to join in the blog hopping fun or to learn what it is all about,
go HERE!

I have been busy taking Guada's Mini Ghost Girls Class!
She can be found HERE.

So my first Ghost Girl is done, YAY!

I probably did her eyes 100 times.
There are big dents in the cardboard for so many tries to make it
'right", that is how we learn isn't it?
I am starting Week Two of the class tomorrow.

I had so much fun painting her that I already have several more gesso'd pieces of cardboard waiting for a face.
I really loved how she turned out!

 Happy Paint Party Friday,
now it's off to visiting others-the best part.

it's party time, paint party time...

Happy Friday everyone!
Every Friday means it's Paint Party Friday!
To learn about it or join in the fun
please visit our wonderful hostesses Eva and Kristin

This last week I have been having a blast with Guadalupe's

Here is the beginning of my first Ghost Girl:

I started using my reading glasses to paint because I realized
how much better I can draw and paint when I can see, haha!
With Guadalupe's class, I discovered how fun Gesso can be!
I have been Gesso'ing a lot of cardboard and book covers to
for more painting (while also recycling)!
I am finally painting again and it feels soooo good.

Below are a couple young hummingbirds I wanted to share.
These two are heading to the feeders
while the adults aren't around.
(just like teenagers, right?)

That's it for me. Hope you are having a FANTASTIC FIRDAY!
Time for me to go visiting!

taking time to stop and smell the roses...

Here in Northern California, we are already on strict water rationing due to no snow pack in the mountains which keeps us in water all summer.
To make it worse, we have had very little rain all winter.
Fire season is already starting up and watering yards or gardens of course is on a schedule.
The meteorologist on TV just said we might get 1/2" Thursday and maybe some snow up in the mountains.

Right now I am enjoying my new yard/garden realizing the flowers will only last a little while this year.
Pictured above is the first and only rose on a small replanted rosebush:

Here is a rose from a rose bush that was full of aphids when I moved in:

Here is the garden's mound of clover.
I have never seen clover grow like this and did not know the flowers
closed up from dusk to sunshine:

The flowers are so pretty when they open:

I wanted to share the pretty flowers while they are still around,
hoping our water crisis will get better.

So remember when you see the beauty of Spring/Summer to appreciate it and take a moment to smell the flowers as Northern California is already going brown.

Have a Terrific Tuesday and make it a GREAT day!
