It all started here once I found the mobile home that I knew, without a doubt, could be my home for the rest of my life.
It was such a simple transaction. The seller and I went to the State Housing Department and then to the window where the sale and title transaction took place.
Within minutes I owned my home, easy peasy!
That was the beginning of making a home out of the "diamond in the rough" that I envisioned.
I am so happy and feel so blessed that I want to share the before and after (so far) pictures.
The transformation has been amazing.
After pulling out the carpet and padding that we knew needed to be replaced, we discovered there were more problems with the front room floor besides the smell.
Numerous spots on the sub-floor needed to be cut out and replaced.
Luckily my son (top) and my sweet tattooed man (bending over) knew what they were doing.
Here is the kitchen prior to pulling the carpet from the front room.
My son below working on the bedroom closets before the new carpet gets installed.
My sweet tattooed man is taking a well deserved break on the cleaned off deck.
His little Chihuahua Saver is standing guard on the deck, lol!
Ready for the after pictures?
Front room, cozy and comfortable.
The bathroom was remodeled a couple years ago however it needed new flooring and repairs on the toilet and piping.
I did invest in a really good bed.
With everything going on with my body, a good bed leads to a great sleep!
In the bedroom are built in cabinets and drawers with a vanity,
how cool is that?
Don't need to worry about having a dresser and there are two closets!
Remember that dark, ugly deck? Amazing what tearing down years of growth of jasmine, a little paint and tearing up the crazy rainbow colored indoor/outdoor carpet can make.
I love jasmine and luckily we have the other side of the yard covered in it.
The yard is big and being worked on every day.
It's looking beautiful!
And yes I have my hummingbird feeders up (three so far) to get some great pics of my little friends.
Setting up my art area is next. Since this is a one bedroom, my art table will be in between the front room and kitchen, or laying on the couch, or outside.
Regardless I need a home-base for it all and I am so excited to finish all my WIPS and repair and paint the various faeries and other treasures we have found laying around.
Thank you to everyone for continuing to follow my blog even when I was absent for long periods of time and not out visiting any of you as much as I would have liked.
This is the new beginning of the rest of my life and I am going to live it to the fullest.
I'm so ready for the ride!
Hugs, blessings and lots of laughter to everyone!
Make it a GREAT week.
