Paint Party Friday and 29Faces is Finished!

Happy PPF!
Thank you Eva and Kristin who host this awesome worldwide artsy blog hop.

Finally Northern California is getting some much needed rain and at my house, snow!

I mentioned to Stacy over at MagicLoveCrow that we needed some of that Canadian snow.
Magically, the storms have been coming in from Canada.
Thank you Stacy!

This year's 29Faces of February 2018 just ended.
I got my faces done altho I did not get them all posted.
Instead of posting 2 weeks worth, here are a few:

Below is bringing a different style to my old
"Rasz Art Dragonfly Girls" from 2012.
I like these better.

My favorite below:

And for the final 28th and 29th faces:

Then it was back to creating.
I have spent way too much time looking at other Artist's YouTube Channels and tutorials.
As a result, I found myself comparing my art to theirs and judging myself as lacking.
I know that is one of the worst things a creative can do.
I knew better and went there anyway.
I think I lost myself and MY style, My passion, and most of all,
I forgot what My art is by doing this.
Can you relate?

I decided I needed to just have some fun.
I pulled out cleanup paper towels from my last project
that I used Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains, a canvas
and Liquitex Gel Mediums.
I turned the music up and proceeded to play!

Love the texture and gloss that came out.

There were holes already in the paper towels that added interest.

Slight green and blue hues appeared as well.

And the finished piece made me smile.

It wasn't my best or most beautiful, however it is now my favorite.
A keeper that I will hang on the wall.
A constant reminder that MY art is all about fun, texture, color,
recycling, gloss and originality.
MY art is ME.
Just like every Artist and Creative creates exactly what is THEIRS!
And that is the real beauty of ART!

Happy PPF! See you next week for the CELEBRATION!!!

Wonderful faces, love the dragonflies, too, just fantastic. Your painty play-time looks great fun, what lovely colours you got. I woke up to another load of snow this morning, I want SPRING! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie

The faces are all so beautiful, and the two upper ones I thought were sisters. The colorful pieces looks good as well, I've never thought of doing that.

Nice drawings and I like the textures in the other pieces.

First I have to say that I REALLY appreciated you leaving me a comment over on the Rubbermoon blog for my post, that was MUCH appreciated! HUGS! Secondly, kudos for finishing up the 29 faces, that's quite an achievement! I loved the abstract piece with all the colors, one can never appreciate those colors and textures in a photograph, but I know I can sit and stare at all the colors and textures when it's in front of me!

I love the contrast between the sharp lines of the dragonflies and flowers, and the soft lines of the graphite. And yes, I can relate to spending too much time watching other artists and as a result feeling demotivated and not good enough. Never a good idea to do that ... It's good that you were able to feel better again by playing. Because that's what art making should be: fun and play. Okay, a few frustrations now and then but mostly play ;-) I like your experiment with the paper towels. Those holes really create a cool effect! wishing you a happy week full of play!

I want some snow, Stacey! :P It's rare to see snow where we live, at least in the last several years anyways.

These are all such fun pieces! Your faces are lovely and I love the dragonflies. :) The abstract paintings are really cool. I like the shimmer, texture and holes in each piece. Great work!

Love all your work, but the addition of all the little details of flowers and dragonflies etc with your girls really does make all the difference. Love the texture in the abstracts.

Happy PPF!

I love the second quite a bit. There is something about the wings hovering over her mouth that makes the drawing whimsical in eerie, that makes me wonder if someone (something) is trying to quiet her, and how she'll stop them...

And the snow just got to us... again.
