Happy Paint Party Friday and Happy Canada Day!

Good afternoon on this lovely, warm, sunny
Paint Party Friday!
Thank you as always Kristin and EVA for another fun-filled,
worldwide, creative Blog Hop!
Haven't a clue what this is about?

I just realized my Blog needs a complete makeover.
Dark and rainy is not too happy or uplifting.
Hopefully there will be something bright and cheery
with all my Social Media Accounts listed
by next Friday. Oh Deja Vu!
Wish me luck or please send inspirational thoughts.

On the last post there was a paper grocery sack with drawings,
cut out drawings from the bag, a collage of brown paper
covering an 8"x8" wrapped canvas AND
a couple layouts for consideration.
Thank you to all who gave their preference.

After a couple unsuccessful tries,
a Southwestern piece was completed:

A couple friends asked if there were bows on top of the cactus?
No, not bows, it is suppose to be little cacti flowers.
I thought about making them a different color or more flower-like
looking...no, it stayed as is.
It's hard to see in this picture however there is a lot of
layers and depth. I like it. This was so fun
and a great project for anyone of any age. Easy-peasy creating.
At least my muse has returned and creation is flowing.

Next I found a watercolor painting from a few weeks back.
I got stuck and put it into the re-do pile.
It is now a got-done piece that justs says
"Happy", so that is the name of this one!

Another watercolor and ink. Seems like a pink/purple flower theme lately:

And my current WIP sitting on the painting table,
with more pinks and purples:

I think both need some ink for definition and pop!
The one on the left will be framed and the thin piece on the right
will be a bookmark. I like the idea of offering framed paintings
with matching bookmarks. What do you think?

I had so much fun blending the three watercolors
used for this piece.

That is it for me this week!
I sure did post late. I will probably be visiting everyone
over the weekend.

Have a Wonderful Week and to my Canadian friends,
Happy Canada Day Sunday!

Happy Paint Party Friday and Daddy Day!

First, thank you Kristen and Eva for hosting another
Paint Party Friday. The best blog hop ever!
Go HERE for more info.

Second, Happy Daddy Day this weekend to all of you
GREAT dads, and also all of you who are filling
the shoes of an absent Dad!

Third, an art story I am sure you can identify with.
At least I hope so because I do not want to feel alone.

I was not very creative this week.
Actually barely creative is how my week went.
And it went by soooo fast, the week that is.
Looking back I have no idea what I did.

To the story:
I got an itch to get out my messy making stash
and create some mixed media.
Got canvases prepped, covered my art area AND
a couple of TV trays AND part of the kitchen table
in all kinds of stash of mixed media ideas.
Papers, lace, stencils, acrylic paints, gel mediums and energy.
I was good to go, I thought.

Then I stared at it all...and lost all inspiration.
Nothing...no ideas...no desire...UGH!
So I looked at this mess strung out all over
for the entire week UNTIL

I got a paper bag from the local grocery store.
Here if you do not bring your own bags to the store with you,
you can purchase a brown paper bag for 5 cents.
It turned out to be a GREAT purchase.

This brown paper bag gave me all the inspiration I needed to create.
Who would of thought that all the artsy stash in the house
had given no inspiration, but a grocery bag would do the trick!
It reminded me of how toddlers would rather play with the box
a toy comes in over the toy itself.

Here are the pics of what I did so far.
After blogging I plan on finishing it today.

The background on the bottom pic is the finished background so far.
I need to add a little washed out color to the pieces still and collage
them on top of the background.

This is where I need your help!
Which design do you like better.
The top or bottom layout?

Share your uninspired time or an inspirational time.
I would love to read it!

Enjoy PPF, Daddys Day,
and Every Day!

It's a Beautiful Day for Paint Party Friday!

Happy Paint Party Friday!
I am feeling so much better this week.
Thank you to everyone for the well wishes,
it really means so much to me.

I was amazed to see I was featured today at the Party!
This just makes today so special for me.
Thank you to the wonderful Hostesses
for keeping this weekly party going!
Click HERE to learn more and join in.

This last week had me spending a lot of time resting.
One fun thing I did to rest was doodle.
Doodling is so much fun and very relaxing.
It's been way to long since I have done any.

I used a watercolor background which did not show up too well.
Do you see a face in there?

I did a couple small watercolor and ink pieces that I framed.

and a little whimsical

Which style do you like best?

Have a FANTASTIC PPF and a WONDERFUL weekend!

Happy PPF! Short post today...

I hope you are starting off the upcoming weekend with fun.
Thank you as always to our wonderful hostesses
for keeping this worldwide party going over 8 years!

I have bronchitis and gave in to taking antibiotics today.
For this post, here are the top three happies of the week.

First, I got HAPPY MAIL.

This cute box held something that WAS made just for me!

this picture does not do justice to the beauty of my new boho wrap.
Through Instagram, I met Linda of Boho Bliss Creations!
She is an amazing artist with leather and beads.
She has lots of gorgeous jewelry in her Etsy Shop
and each bracelet is made to order.
Of course she has much more than just bracelets.
I have been wearing this bracelet constantly since it arrived.

The second happiest happie of the week was this.

I hope the colors show up better on your monitor than it does on my old laptop I am using.
Playing around and experimenting with watercolors and ink created this.
It was so pretty I put it in a frame on my coffee table.
I hope to do more of this style, post bronchitis.

My third happy was all the wonderful comments you left last Friday!

That is it for me today. Time to go lay down.
I will be out visiting later.
Happy Paint Party Friday!

Fun & Funny Flowers for Paint Party Friday!

Hi Everyone!
Thank you so much to our hostesses with the mostesses
The amazing Kristin and Eva!

I tried to post from my tablet today and after an hour or so,
realized it was not going to work.
Has anyone been able to post from another device?
If so, how?

Today is cold and raining.
We have had awesome sunny hot weather for the last 2 weeks
and now it's in the 40s and cold!
AND, by Sunday, we will be back to sunny and in the 80s!
Crazy weather this year for sure.

Being drab and cold, I decided I needed some Fun Flowers going.

Silly Too-lipz for summertime dreams.

Three more Raszie Rozez bookmarks.

That's it for me this week. I made a lot of bookmarks as it was so much fun.
I couldn't get a good pic of all of them today
so I opted to try later.

I am now going to focus on some smaller framed pieces.
If anyone knows how to take a picture of artwork in a frame with glass,
could you please share in the comments.

Happy Paint Party Friday.
Have a Wonderful Week!

I am back once again for Paint Party Friday...

Hi everyone!
I have really missed blogging and seeing all my blogger friends.

Thank you SO MUCH Eva and Kristin for keeping this
awesome party going into it's 8th year!

Thank you all you bloggers for attending weekly.
I have been gone for months and it feels beautiful
to come back and participate and to have all you amazing artists
posting all your awesome creations from around the world!

(If you have no clue what I am talking about, go HERE!)

Life has been changing dramatically for me.
I have become a Grandma for the first time to a beautiful little girl!

I took a break from painting my acrylic, collage mixed media paintings.
Instead, I have been creating watercolor and ink artwork and I love it!
I even changed the name of this blog to Designs by Rasz Art.
My watercolors and ink look much more like different designs to me.

I've recently opened a new Etsy shop Designs By Rasz Art!
I currently have been listing my original watercolor and ink bookmarks
and have more art and greeting cards to list.

That's just a few. I started by making one for myself and had so much fun I just kept on going.

The one I originally made for me.
I have done some watercolor and ink pieces that I can frame or create into cards.
My first attempt:

Practice and finding my style continues to make me grow.
This is the only pic I have on my laptop to post even though
it's an awful photo, you can get the idea.
I will post more next week hopefully.

My body is what caused the change in creating
and the lack of blogging.
I can elaborate on that later.
What I will end on is this is the first time (in I-can't-remember-when)
that I can actually, honestly say I absolutely LOVE MY LIFE

Sending YOU lots of Love, Light and Hugz,

Paint Party Friday and 29Faces is Finished!

Happy PPF!
Thank you Eva and Kristin who host this awesome worldwide artsy blog hop.
Find out more HERE!

Finally Northern California is getting some much needed rain and at my house, snow!

I mentioned to Stacy over at MagicLoveCrow that we needed some of that Canadian snow.
Magically, the storms have been coming in from Canada.
Thank you Stacy!

This year's 29Faces of February 2018 just ended.
I got my faces done altho I did not get them all posted.
Instead of posting 2 weeks worth, here are a few:

Below is bringing a different style to my old
"Rasz Art Dragonfly Girls" from 2012.
I like these better.

My favorite below:

And for the final 28th and 29th faces:

Then it was back to creating.
I have spent way too much time looking at other Artist's YouTube Channels and tutorials.
As a result, I found myself comparing my art to theirs and judging myself as lacking.
I know that is one of the worst things a creative can do.
I knew better and went there anyway.
I think I lost myself and MY style, My passion, and most of all,
I forgot what My art is by doing this.
Can you relate?

I decided I needed to just have some fun.
I pulled out cleanup paper towels from my last project
that I used Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains, a canvas
and Liquitex Gel Mediums.
I turned the music up and proceeded to play!

Love the texture and gloss that came out.

There were holes already in the paper towels that added interest.

Slight green and blue hues appeared as well.

And the finished piece made me smile.

It wasn't my best or most beautiful, however it is now my favorite.
A keeper that I will hang on the wall.
A constant reminder that MY art is all about fun, texture, color,
recycling, gloss and originality.
MY art is ME.
Just like every Artist and Creative creates exactly what is THEIRS!
And that is the real beauty of ART!

Happy PPF! See you next week for the CELEBRATION!!!

It's Paint Party Friday and and 29 Faces...

Thank you to Eva and Kristen for all their hard work keeping
this worldwide, creative, weekly meet-up happening
by being the hostesses with the mostest-es!

I have not done much painting this week.
I am currently engrossed in the wonderful,
annual 29 Faces of February Challenge
hosted by Martha HERE.

The challenge I gave myself was to watercolor paint
ALL 29 faces this month.
In my head it was a great idea, however on watercolor paper...not so great.
It seems that getting familiar with watercolors first,
would have been a better idea.

Instead, I decided to challenge myself by drawing SMALL faces.

The reason drawing small faces is such a challenge
goes back to when I first learned to write.
Instead of having paper laying on a table straight up and down,
or even slightly at an angle,
I have always laid my paper down completely sideways.
With the paper sideways, I would write bottom to top on what would be
the horizontal side side of the paper.
Like this.

Make sense?

No matter what I have done throughout the years,
the way I laid my paper out in front of me stayed the same.
I draw sideways also, which makes it even harder.

Drawing a face sideways usually causes crooked facial features,
even if using lines for reference.
The smaller the drawing, the more difficult it becomes to
get the facial features straight.

Tilted heads are much easier.
So are larger drawings. There is more room to correct errors.

So as most would think a small face a day would go rather quickly,
for me it takes longer. This is a great daily exercise for me.
I still draw sideways however I am getting a little better at it,
I think.

I am late posting and will try to visit everyone throughout the weekend.
Hope you had a fantastic day
and a wonderful week ahead of you.

It's Paint Party Friday...and 29Faces of February 2018!

Happy Paint Party Friday!
This week went by so fast.

I got this painting done this week.
It already has it's forever home!

Mixed Media with layers and layers of color, paper collage, paint
and yummy, yummy texture on a 24"x18" wrapped canvas.

I am also enjoying another annual event,
29 Faces February 2018
This year I had decided to challenge myself a little harder,
I would paint all my faces in watercolor.
It is taking much longer than I planned to do this.
I am rethinking this personal challenge and may do some of my faces this year in acrylics and/or colored pencils. I have not quite decided yet.
So here are a few of this week's faces painted in watercolor,
and a sketch waiting to get painted.

That's it for me.
Have a FABULOUS Friday

Paint Party Friday...

Happy Paint Party Friday!
Not much in life is consistent, except for every Friday.
Thanks to Kristin and Eva at http://paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com/.
They have kept this Friday Bloggers Tradition going for almost

It's a place I can always play and enjoy the wonderful creatives
throughout cyber world.
I have made many friends here and enjoyed lots of fantastic,
incredible creations. I have been inspired and in awe of photos from landscapes
and worlds that I had only imagined in my mind.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your beautiful creations
and glimpses of the wonderful worlds you live in.

As I started off the New Year, I had a "vision" of creating
faces in watercolors.
I have just begun this journey and so far, I am loving watercolors!
The face above was my FIRST watercolor face and finished off in ink.

Here is another face from beginning to end:

I like the first one I painted in non-traditional colors best.
Not sure where the faces are going to take me
or why I have come back to them once again.

Ayala Art's 29 Faces of February 2018 has begun!
The Blog page: http://29faces.blogspot.com/
This year I am Challenging myself to PAINT 29 faces this month.

I have been busy on Instagram, Facebook, building an Etsy store
and now back to my severely ignored blog.

Does anyone know how to add links for my Social Media accounts
to my Blog?
Some days I feel like a dinosaur...
although I do not think I can move even as fast
as a large, awkward one.

Have "Labels" on Blogs changed?
Do the Labels or Tags need # hashtags?
Ugh!!! So much to learn.
And learning slowly, taking it one bite at a time.

Oh..If you have an Instagram Account or Facebook Art Page,
leave the link in the comments below and I will Follow and Share.

Have a Fabulous Friday
and a Wonderful Week!

It's 29 Faces of February 2018!!!!

Happy New Year!
Happy February!
Happy 29 Faces Challenge!

February 1st 2018 seems to be the best time ever to dust off my laptop and start blogging again. I have so much to share and have no idea where to even begin.

I will start with the fun and creative
This year I am challenging myself to create
29 PAINTED faces...
I am not sure what that means, it just feels right.
I have learned through this annual Challenge that creating faces
is a great way to expand my art all together.
It is also a fantastic way to to express emotion,
find my ever-growing style and push myself
out of my comfort zone!

I am back and ready to conquer the fears of the last several years
and get back to hopping around the world-wide web.

Time for another cup of coffee and some painting fun!

I am excite to visit all my blogging friends and make some new friends
along the way!

Here is to a New Day, a New Challenge, a New Year!

Hope you are smiling!
