Protest and Outrage: Dark Poetry For the Cruelest Month 2017

Focusing and thinking was not happening this week.
The thought of not posting this year made my heart cry.
So here I am, for Magaly's Annual Dark Poetry for the
Cruelest Month 2017!

And even at this late entry,
I MADE IT!!!

It amazes me how fast protection can be taken away yet how long it takes to get it. I certainly do not want to be political here, it's not just politics. It's money, it's payoffs for whoever is the highest bidder. I live on the edge of one of our most beautiful National Forrest in the United States and a cars drive to several others. People are the most dangerous. They want these National Parks yet can disrespect and desecrate them on their yearly camping trips. It's just one little trickle in the poisoned rivers we are creating. Which is where my poem this evening came from.

taking years for the saving
one swipe of a pen
the salvation is now gone

This has been a great theme for this week and I have read some great poems.
Thank you Magaly!

Have a wonderful week!

It seems that when it comes to making money, too many people (especially the very rich) refuse to look at the bigger picture. And everyone suffers. Let's hope the pen writes again, soon... for salvation.

Several years back now our government decided to sell off our national woodlands!!! Fortunately it didn't happen. I feel your pain over the "users" who disrespect the thing that they claim to take such pleasure in visiting XXX

It's both tragic and criminal.

Ohh Rasz these shortsighted FOOLS with the eye always on the cash prize really make me want to spew!!!! Governments wanting to 'privatise' usually to their mates, who then rape pillage and profit until there is nothing left but a barren land, poisoned waters, unbreathable air... be political... when we as a people stand up to the bullies & draw attention to their foul deeds they can't hide what they are destroying as easily!! Well done :)

A well-written and punching piece, Rasz! Hope if we continue to pick up our pens or creative tools, we can contribute to a positive change.

The brevity really drives the devastating impact home.
