Paint Party Friday with trying a new photo editor...

What a beautiful, hot summer Paint Party Friday!
Thanks as always to Eva and Kristen
for being the never-ending hostesses
of the best weekly blogging party ever.

Last week I had dumped Picasa Photo Editor
and thought I lost all my pictures too!
I wanted it back once I realized I didn't like
Window's Photo Program,
only to find out there is no more Picasa
unless you already have downloaded it.
Google has gotten rid of it and there will be no more updates
for the programs.

Uh-oh! What was I going to do?
I do not like Window's Photo editor,
although I did find most of my lost pictures in there.

Last week, I only had a couple close ups of this painting.
I did find my pictures and here she is finished.

And a close up of her face.

And as I am posting this I just dumped coffee on my laptop.
Hopefully all is good...it has to be...it's PPF!

So the photo editor I used for today's post is
Pic Monkey Royale!
Very easy to use, except there is no download of the program.
All editing has to be done on their site online.
My next try will be with Gimp 2 which I already have downloaded,
although Gimp does so much more than I would ever use the program for.

Onto some more art...
There has been this ugly spotted background waiting to be turned into a painting.
I started the process Wednesday.

A trio of colored tissue paper,
pulled off all the bubbles yesterday morning.
It's not so easy to adhere tissue paper down without the bubbles.

Decided to add Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distressed Spray Stain,
and some Basic's Light Blue Permanent acrylic paint with lots of water.

While still wet, since I had no patience this week,
I started to add newspaper pictures from Trader Joe's weekly ad,
along with Tim Holtz Idea-ology Postale and Melange
tissue wrap.
I used Golden's Soft Gel Gloss Medium for the paper.
I was amazed it all stayed down.
The wet paint and stain added color over the papers.

No bubbles, just a few wrinkles
which are fine for some added texture.
I am very happy with this background.
Now what to do with it?

Leaving you with a couple pics of the hummingbirds
who visit every day.
I like to think they visit me,
really it's the feeder.

Have a GREAT PPF day and
a WONDERFUL weekend!

Blessings to all, Rasz

The face is lovely with those big blue eyes and I love the transparency. Sorry you are still having problems with photo editing. Gimp is a good programme though. The blue painting at the end is wonderful, too, love all the collaged layers. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

LOVE your face painting with the ghost images of collage peeking thru! Beautiful projects all. Glad Pic Monkey is working ok for you. I adore hummingbirds and we only ever get a few, and I have yet to capture one in a photo. Happy PPF!

I love your work. I SOOOO know what you mean about Picasa. I sure like it. I find it such a pain in the butt when they have to change it up on us.
You do wonderful work!
I couldn't manage any art this week. Next week!
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!

Rasz, it was such fun watching how you transformed things with tissue papers, paints and TH stuff. Amazing. Love your portrait. She looks mysterious to me, like maybe she's a female 007 or something. My hummingbirds haven't come back since the first week they were here. I have changed the sugar water and all. My nextdoor neighbor has 3 feeders so I think they go there instead.

The background you created is wonderful. FYI, I use a photo program called Ipiccy, free and I really like it.

I love the way you can see all that detail in her hair. Look forward to seeing how the canvas progresses. I love the colours and vintage feel to it.
