Yay! It's Friday and that means it's Paint Party Friday...

Happy Paint Party Friday!!!
Go HERE to see what it is all about
and visit artists from around the world.
If you haven't joined in yet, click in the link,
you won't be disappointed.

"Happy" a mixed media acrylic painting.
This Mixed-Media piece that I just finished is "Happy", because it made me happy to paint it.
It has opened me up to just doing what makes me happy.

I am trying so hard to stop wondering if other people will like my artwork.
That fear of approval from others has kept me stagnant in so many areas of my creative life.
When I think about it, what do I have to loose by following what brings joy and beauty in my life, except for joy, creating and beauty.
I think it is a strange vicious cycle.

For me, I have to work daily on this or I will let the pain, health issues and my own insecurities win.

I cannot let the label of "dis-able" define me,
even though it may take me longer to create something,
or make plans that may need to be cancelled last minute,
or miss PPF...

I can still create, love, find joy in the little and big things.
It's just time for me to finally let go of the fear of disapproval ,
created mainly by own insecurity
(and a little from people that do not understand)
of how much my life has changed in the last 6 years.

I cannot start a new chapter of worthiness
without turning the page.

Have a FANTASTIC Paint Party Friday!
Time to go and visit other awesome, amazing, artists!

So very colorful. How could you not be happy just looking at it.

love the explosion of colours and flowers. When you create what makes you happy it'll show in your art and people will like it. And if they don't: who cares!? You cannot please everybody. Just think of all the fun you had creating it :-)

Hi Robin!! This mixed media piece looks like a batik. It's very beautiful and cheerful. We all are our worst critics; I get in my own way all the time.
Your post really speaks to me on so many levels. Thank you for sharing.
So glad the mittens are keeping you warm! I definitely need to make some more.
Hugs

I love those deep vibrant orange tones. Yes! Make art because you love it. ..do not listen to those who fail to see the joy in what you do.

The fear of disapproval is so familiar, in my opinion most artists are cursed with uncertainty and it's a huge task to push those feelings to the back of your head and try to forget them.
I'm glad that you've managed to do so and that freedom without burdening thoughts can be seen in your joyous and vivid painting!

I like your artwork. But what matters most is if YOU like your art work. It is a joy to churn out projects for the simple satisfaction it brings. I am thinking you get lots of satisfaction from your colorful work.

I love your happy painting. It is full of joy. Stop worrying about what other people think..it will just stifle your creativity. Just keep painting in your own unique voice. Happy PPF

This is happy, and gorgeous. One of the many blessings of aging is that you care less what others think and enjoy the process more. Few of us will ever become rich and famous because of our art but if it gives us pleasure, calmness, peace of mind, etc. why not embrace it? One of the few addictions that is good for us!

I love what you create. This piece is and does feel happy and full of sunny joy. I am happy to see your spirit rise. Yes being "different" than you were before ( I really hate the word (disabled) we are NOT disabled we just have different abilities now. As long as we use what we have and continue to succeed then we are whole. Believe me when I say, "I know" there are those days that pain, or loss of use of body parts makes the day more difficult but as worrier women we can make it through and be as good as we can be. Create from your heart, conquer from your soul and your art will effect others the same way. Loving yourself and your art comes first. Have the best weekend!

Glad you have 'turned the page' ~ we are all handicapped in some way ~ you are alone and your artwork is divine ~ so colorful and creative ~

I have to say to myself ~ trust your self, don't compare, and create each day ~ (all this I have found takes practice, practice, practice) ~ You are not alone ~ Lots of healing hugs to you ~ xxx

Happy Weekend to you ~ ^_^

your art is screaming"SUMMER" and I love it :)

Re my wet cat. It is a part of a waterfall that looked like a cat. I added the eye and whiskers :)

The colors of the flowers are vibrant and lovely. Yes, it takes courage to create art and to put it out. Glad that you have reached that stage of being fearless about public opinion.

This painting looks like summer to me. How incredibly lovely.

Such a beautiful piece! It makes me smile. I recognize those insecurities - but for me it is more about my writing - as I know I am not advanced yet in my art. But I love to create and don't care what others think. All the best!
Thanks so much for stopping by. have a wonderful weekend.!

I love your use of contrasting colors and the depth created by the layering in this "Happy" painting. I've been stifled by perfectionism in the past, so I can relate to your feelings. Just keep on creating and expressing who you are through your artwork as you have here!

Tell those inner gremlins to get packin....vamoose....leave the premises!! This is a gorgeous piece and you should just create because you love to create. Some pieces you will love some you might not. Put the critic to bed. Express the essence that is Rasz!
Do it with abandon! The great thing about aging is caring even less what others think... as the clock ticks on... Just be who you are authentically on the page, in your life, to everyone! You will attract all like minded souls!! I love this art work so much...it had me at orange and then flowers...It's so happy! Great post!

Hugs Giggles
