ChakrART workshop week 1 for me...

While visiting Stacy over at MagicLoveCrow, I saw something interesting on her sidebar. It was a badge for ChakrART, a free workshop from Timeless Rituals,  which is also a really cool blog.

ChakrART workshop started March 4th however you can join anytime, luckily for me.

Here is what I created from the first week:

I'm excited to do the 2nd week's lesson.
The one good thing of starting up late is that you don't have to wait a whole week for the next lesson, its already posted!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates this Holiday!

new book bag...

About a week ago, I ran into a girl I know. She is a young single mom and she was so excited to tell me that she was teaching her first class at her church. She saw my tote and told me that she needed something like that for a book bag to hold all her class materials.
So I made her one:

an "oops" picture while I was taking pictures of the bag.
I think this was the best picture of all:

I also created my Rasz Art labels and material content/washing instruction labels:

If anyone would like to know how to create their own labels or stickers for their creations please contact me.

Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday!

i got an award...

I just received the Liebster Award from sweet Kay over at 505whimsygirl!
Go check out her blog, she is always doing something fun and inspiring.

Thank you so much Kay!
I copied Kay's explanation of the award:

The Liebster Award was designed to be a blog award in the pay it forward fashion.  Once you've been nominated you award it to five blogs that you like that have fewer than 200 followers.  This encourages new visitors to visit these blogs.

The Rules for Acceptance are:  thank the person who gave you the award and link back to their blog.  Post the award onto your blog.  Give the award to five bloggers who you appreciate that have fewer than 200 followers.  Leave a comment on their blog letting them know that you have given them this AWESOME award!

I am so grateful to be recognized...especially since this award get others to visit us smaller blogs.
I want to send it to everyone I visit!
I just cannot seem to pick 5!
I have a wonderful list of bloggers on my right sidebar, many of which are smaller blogs, so I have and idea....it's a little against the instructions. For anyone who knows me, I do not follow instructions well.
And to Kay, that is the reason I do not knit :)
If you visit my blog and have less than 200 followers, please accept this award from me.
Also, please visit some of the wonderful blogs I have on my sidebar...you will find Kay of 505whimsygirl there too!!!

Big hugs to all and have a Terrific Thursday!

ruffles and raindrops...

Up here in Northern California we have been having very unusual warm and dry weather for this time of year. As much as everyone has been loving this early Spring, we really have needed some rain and mountain snow.

Today is rainy and cold. The woodstove is provides a warm, glowing atmosphere here in the studio with the raindrops on the roof creating the perfect background sounds.

Charlene (my dog) has been curled up all day napping.
I have been busy creating more totes.
Today I finished up this ruffle tote with lace roses:

This tote is lined with material from an old t-shirt:

My son's girlfriend wants this one for her college books, although when I gave it to her she quickly filled it up with the contents of her purse!

I have four more totes sewn and painted waiting for embellishing.
As soon as I find out how to use Pintrest, I'm going to post some of the totes as I make them.

Hope you are having a relaxing day and working on something that makes you smile.

belated birthday, bloggerversary and bags...

Well, I have missed my birthday here, which is okay 'cuz I cannot count that high anyway.
I missed my bloggerversary which was 2 years on March 8th.
AND I am behind in bags!

Sooooo....the plan was to get a couple totes out to several of my blogging friends who have been by my side from my first post and always are encouraging me.

For the anniversary of this blog, I am working on a new look.
(please tell me what you think)
 I purchased my own domain!!!!
YAY! Look up at the URL!

I have been asked by over a dozen people, including my Orthopedic Pain Management doctor who wants one for his wife! I am overwhelmed with joy and feel so grateful that I can gift people who are helping me so much.

Here are some springtime colored totes drying in the yard with the daffodils.

The dried totes with the dried painted canvas to add to the totes.

and a finished pink tote with handmade flowers and dragonflies from the scrap messy painted canvas.

hopefully this will show some details.

Even though this month is going much faster than I am, I think it's going to be a great new year for this blog, for YOU and me!!!!!

It's a Wonderful Wednesday.

Now tell me what you are catching up on :)
