it's woyww #215...

Yes it's another Wednesday!
Wow time goes by fast.

For those who do not know what each Wednesday is, it's WOYWW (What's on Your Work desk (space/table/bench) Wednesday!
The day we all get to peek into each other's work areas and see where and what they create.
To find out more go HERE.

My work table is waiting for the next tote to be painted:

Remember that pretty picture I painted from cleaning off my brushes onto the framed picture canvas...yeah, the one with the butterflies?

Well I really messed it up. You know when you think you can add just one more "touch" of something to make "it" better? I thought I would put a little burgundy red ink around the edges of the bottom butterfly and some purple ink around the top butterfly.
Okay I have never worked with ink except to distress things, and that was pretty easy-peasy so I figured touching up the butterflies a little couldn't be difficult at all.

NOT!!!!!

And then I tried to rub out the red and made it worse.
Of course it dried in 1/2 a second!!!
Any suggestions on how to fix this???
Why can't I just stop at good???

Here is my other work space, my ironing board
The raspberry colored tote was done with
"True Burgundy" paint.
I love painting fabric because it's always a surprise how it will come out.

The rooster fabric is just cool.

Here's that magenta/purple finally finished purse that's been hanging out on in my work area for a couple weeks.I wanted to add some hand painting but after the butterfly incident I though it wasn't a good time to try.

And a NEW framed canvas to wipe off my brushes onto, sitting and waiting on the floor right next to my work table:

That's it for me!
Now off to Julia's blog to get my Mr. Linky number and then go visit other desks around the world!

Have a WONDERFUL WOYWW!!!!

I am loving your bags! The purple one with the flowers is just beautiful. As for the canvas, I love the idea of creating with brushes I used! Very clever. I think your canvas is lovely, I see lots of them that ink drips, or smudges and they are done on purpose. If you really don't like it, you can always paint over what bothers you, but I like it. Oh fiddle dee dee... isn't that just the pits ??!!! See - you shouldn't have fiddled !!! :-) How's about smudging a little more paint, ink across the bottom there to kind of blot out the drip ? I don't think it looks so bad really... or maybe cut out some leaves and stuff to cover it and turn it into a mixed media canvas ? :-D

Happy WOYWW and thank you for letting me visit :-D

In MHO I would darken up that top butterfly, and call it good. I like the ink drip.

Hi Rasz
I am sorry but I can't be much help on how to fix the butterfly canvas. We never really know when to stop and when enough is enough.
I love all your bits they are wonderful and I know that you will get that canvas sorted someone will have an idea for you.
Have a great day and enjoy the rest of your week with this lovely weather

Howdy stranger,I am always messing stuff up or making more work for myself by adding one more thing, or touching something up. Do you have a charcoal pencil?? Maybe you could go around the butterflies with a charcoal pencil and lightly smudge it with your finger to give them some depth and definition. I love my charcoal pencil. Although I'm not sure listening to me is the way to go. The fabrics are great. That Magenta purse is adorable. I'd never think to paint fabric. I totally love the waste canvas idea, mind if I borrow that idea?? Right now I'm using a big sheet of 22x30 paper from my granddaughters giant Crayola sketch pad. Hoping you are well. (((HUGS)))

You are too funny! I think you like messing things up Robin! LOL! For the butterfly, I would attack it with black and go from there. That's what called to me ;o) The purse is so pretty! Well done ;o) Big Hugs and be well ;o)

You know, I actually quite like it as it is, beautiful colours. I don't know how you could improve it, I'm sorry. Your tote bag is beautiful, love those flowers. Hugs, Wendy #121

Oh I feel bad for you having that all go pear shaped. You should know not to fiddle, I find gesso works for all mistakes. Truly I think it is still really beautiful.

Happy WOYWW

I actually love the smudgy inky look of your Canvas and would be happy with anything that slightly resembled this if I had painted it, its quite beautiful. Loving the look of your painted bags too! Happy WOYWW! Danie #34

I like it. But I do see where a bit of black outlining for definition might be okay. I love the colors you worked with. Creative Blessings! Kelly #105

I like it just the way it is, but I understand your concern. You might be able to use some of the same, or complimentary colors you used on the background to cover over some of the red. I realize it may be hard to replicate, so adding more color might be an option.

I’m not sure how late LATE is, but I’m here to wish you a beLATEd WOYWW from #2.

I think the butterfly pic still looks wonderful. I would leave it just the way it is. :) Looks like you're staying very busy and creating many beautiful totes/purses. :) Hope all is well with you! Big hugs!

You are really to hard on yourself, Rasz, but if you truly don't like it, just continue using it for your waste canvas. The famous paintings all have oodles of layers, don't they? Good luck with it! Darnell

G'day Ras
Just popping in for WOYWW. Yes I am late again lol. Sorry i didnt get to return a comment to you for WOYWW a fortnight ago. Too many things were happening at once in my life!. Anyway here I am at your blog. Oh goodness I am the same and stuff things up just when i should have left it be. I'm thinking its a slovent ink as it dried so quick...perhaps try on a small section with a cotton tip that had rubbing alcohol on it and see if the ink lifts. I actually like the unsmudged purple flecks lol. Texture paste thru some stencils and thwn paint, rub ons etc on top may be an option too. Oh and charcoal pencil or a sketch and wash pencile around the butterflies will pop them too.
hugs
